Safeguarding

Everyone has a responsibility to safeguard children, young people and adults who may be at risk of abuse. If you have a concern about the immediate safety of a child then you should talk dial 999.

We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults, and recognise the importance of following good safeguarding procedures. At our PCC meeting on 5th June 2019 and annually since then, we reviewed our safeguarding procedures and have adopted the Church of England’s “Promoting a Safer Church” Safeguarding Policy, copies of which are available online at: www.rochester.anglican.org/safeguarding/for-parishes

Physical copies are available in the church office. Do ask.

Parish Safeguarding Officer:
We are currently in the process of appointing a new Parish Safeguarding Officer, in the meantime if you have any safeguarding concerns please contact the Rochester Diocese safeguarding team or speak to another member of the St John’s Chatham team.

If you are looking for support as a victim or survivor of abuse then do start by looking at the relevant Rochester Diocesan page.
